*There are several ATM machines in Dar es Salaam and the number is fast-growing, despite the fact that the demand-availability ratio is still very small compared to the developed world.
*ATMs in Dar es Salaam are available at the following locations/points (this list will continue to be updated as more information becomes available to us):
A. POSTA MPYA (CITY CENTRE):
1. 3 ATMs at CRDB Azikiwe Branch Building (Azikiwe Street)[CRDB Visa Tembo cards]
2. 5-7 ATMs owned by CRDB at Benjamin Mkapa Building (ground fl.)[Azikiwe Street), just close to the CRDB Azikiwe Branch.
3. 5-7 ATMs owned by CRDB at CRDB Holland Branch [At the Junction of Ohio Street & Samora Avenue; Opposite British Council; near Steer's)
4. ATMs at NBC National Bank of Commerce) Headquarters. The ATMs are conveniently located at Azikiwe Street, exactly opposite the New Africa Hotel.
5. ATMS at NMB Bank (Headquarters). Conveniently located at NMB House, At the junction of Azikiwe/Garden Avenue Avenue.
B. MLIMANI CITY
Mlimani City, a premier shopping centre in Dar es salaam,located at Mwenge/Mlimani (Chuo Kikuu Area) has several ATMs.
C. MAKUMBUSHO
Makumbusho area has several ATMs located there. Most notable ones are CRDB ATMs at Millenium Tower.
D. KINONDONI
NBC is the only Bank currently with ATM machines in and around Kinondoni area. There are ATMs at Kinondoni Mwanamboka (manyanya-Kinondoni B area). Recently the bank has added a new ATM at Kinondoni Studio daladala stand. Kinondoni is one of the bussiest business areas but also one of the most underserved in term of Bank branches at financial facilities like automated teller machines. Good that NBC has showed a lead on this.
E. MNAZI MMOJA
Mnazi mmoja is one of the business centres with somehow satisfactory number of ATMs and CRDB has most ATM points here than any other commercial bank in Tanzania. CRDB ATMs can be found at Ushirika Building (Lumumba Rd.)and thanks CRDB this is one of the most significant points for these facilities as both TRA Ilala branch and BRELA are located here. On the same Road (Lumumba Road) there is another ATM operayted by CRDB and this one can be found on Lumumba Rd as one drives towards Morogoro rd. it is very close to CCM Building Lumumba (Dar es Salaam CCM regional Office). the third location at Mnazi mmoja where CRDB owns ATMS is along UHURU street, not far away from the Junction of Lumumba, as one drives or walks from Posta/Mnazi Mmoja to Kariakoo.
F. UBUNGO
Ubungo area near Ubungo Bus terminal has several ATMs, kstly by CRDB, NMB and Exim Bank. There are ATMS at the Ubungo main traffic lights (Morogoro Road/sam Nujoma junction) near the Ubungo petrol station. not far from here you can also find ATMs near NBC Branch, close to the TBS Headquarters, near Ubungo Terminal for up-country buses.
G. UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM (MLIMANI AREA)
There are several ATMs here. First, at CRDB Mlimani Branch, near Mlimani Police station en route to Changanyikeni. two other ATMs owned by CRDB are located at the University's Mlimani main campus near adjacent to the University Bookshop and Mlimani Post office.
NBC has an office too at Mlimani and financial transactions acn go smoothly here as well.
H. CHANG'OMBe-KEKO AREA
There is an ATM at EXIM Bank Branch-Keko Bora at the very building where TRA Temeke branch is located. NMB and NBC have ATMs too.
A short distance away (4 minutes walking) there is BARCLAYS bank branch with ATMs. From there you walk a short distance too as if you are going to Kurasini or National Stadium (Uhuru Stadium)[Uwanja wa Taifa), there are two separate ATM points-both at or near DUCE (Dar es Salaam University College-Chang'ombe). The first one is at DUCE's north gate (on way to Kurasini) where there are several ATMs by CRDB. The Southern gate (on way to and close to Uhuru Stadium) there is NBC Branch and several ATMs are found there.
I. MSASANI KWA MWALIMU NYERERE
CRDB has ATMs near the Junctions of Old Bagamoyo Road and ROSE GARDEN Rd.-not far from Mwalimu Nyerere's Msasani residence. Barclay's has branch and ATMs too. Good still, there is UMOJA SWITCH ATM networks where one could possibly access several banks/ATM cards at the corner of Old Bagamoyo Road and ROSE GARDEN Rd.-Just oppo. Mwalimu Nyerere's Residence.
J. SHOPPERS PLAZA
Several ATMs are positioned here as well. EXIM Bank, Barclays, etc.
